FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

Plan for some time before and after your appointment. (about 10 minutes each.) Your therapist will want to speak with you about your physical/mental health and provide information about how massage therapy can assist you before beginning your session. This also leaves time towards the end of your session for, if you have any questions or need to book your next appointment.

Wear comfortable clothing.

Please bring a valid ID that matches the name listed on your appointment.

CAN I TALK DURING MY SESSION?

When you come in for your sessions, gauge how you're feeling that day. Sometimes talking helps your mind and body relax. And other times you may want to be quiet and even fall asleep.
Any of these or a combination of them all are just fine.
Also communicating with your therapist is very important! If you would like a change in pressure, temperature, or lighting let your therapist know.

DO I HAVE TO GET COMPLETELY UNDRESSED?

You should undress to your comfort level. If removing all of your clothes makes you uncomfortable, then you are not getting the optimal benefit from the session. Your therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as she can.
Your massage therapist should give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RECEIVE MASSAGE?

Frequency of sessions should be discussed with your massage therapist after your session, when she has a better hands-on understanding of your particular muscular issues.
When deciding how often to come in to the office for bodywork, I tell my clients to gauge how they are feeling, what their workload/stress levels are at the time, what they can afford, and how much time they will/can give to themselves.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

A full body massage session is normally 60 minutes. 75 and 90 minutes sessions are also available if you have multiple areas of tension or pain to focus on.

ARE THERE TIMES THAT I SHOULDN'T RECEIVE MASSAGE?

Massage Therapy is Great for the body, but there are a few situations where it may not be recommended. If you have a fever, cold/flu, or a contagious skin infection. Please wait until your symptoms have subsided or your doctor has cleared you to schedule an appointment.

Massage therapy is a healing art that we use to help the body and mind get to a healthier place. Massage therapy is not a sexual service. Any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances will result in the immediate termination of your session, and as a client in this office.

LATE/CANCELLATION POLICY

Please reschedule or cancel your appointment a full 24 hours from the time of your appointment, so that your therapist has an adequate amount of time to fill the space. In circumstances where an appointment was not cancelled in time or a no call no show there will be a fee of $25.00

If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting the office your appointment will be cancelled.
